Our story
Affectionately named after her son, Kaiden Bodie-Martinez, KBM was founded by Chef Brielle Bodie, in 2016. KBM started originally as KBM Popup Restaurant and is based in her family’s Bronx home. The popup was the start of a community focused culinary company offering popup restaurants and then added seasonal baked goods and curated meals from scratch.
Led by Chef Brielle, KBM Popups’ journey stretched beyond its original popup restaurant and was rebranded as KBM BRAND in 2022. Her passion for the Culinary Arts and its versatility lead her to create this platform for local businesses and a means to provide for the community. Paving the way for a more impactful business, KBM BRAND offers annual brunches, popup restaurants, tastings, and various events.
Its long term goals include opening a brick and mortar restaurant and community garden. It would be located on a vineyard, or owned land, and provide economical fine dining for all patrons. Healthy and affordable cuisine will be attainable to everyone regardless of their financial status.
“This is not for me, this is for vendors and entrepreneurs to use my company as a platform to be noticed.”
My Story
Born in the Bronx, Chef Brielle Bodie was raised watching her parents cook. As early as preschool, she recognized the many ways that food could be prepared.
“I used to watch my parents cook and make eggs and saw how versatile it was. This one thing can be poached, fried, scrambled, baked..”
- Chef Brielle Bodie
Inspired as a youngster, Brielle wanted to be a farmer, however, she quickly realized that being close to her family, in the city, was a priority. Undeterred, her passion for food and family grew and found that the culinary arts was her calling.
“There is a certain, genuine satisfaction when you give others food.”
- Chef Brielle Bodie
Upon graduating from Monroe College with an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts in 2017, Brielle continued her journey in culinary by starting KBM Popup. Named after her son, Kaiden Bodie-Martinez, it was created as a positive way to provide a future for him. From scratch, she created curated meals and baked goods for the public.
Her drive to create affordable and healthy foods for her family and the community has expanded her business beyond a Popup. Chef Brielles’ goal is to use her business as a platform for small businesses to be recognized and to better serve the local residents
